Ecological Supervision – Ecological Clerk of Works
Increasingly on larger development sites, local planning authorities are specifying the requirement for an independent Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) as a means of ensuring compliance with legislation and planning conditions. An Ecological Clerk of Works is responsible for ensuring that developers, site contractors and management companies are equipped with the correct knowledge to protect environmental features on site.
Ecological Consultants to all industry sectors
Twig provides, ecological supervision and species handling services in-house, and we also work with third party ecologists with the common goal to efficiently clear areas with minimum impact to the flora and fauna being protected.
Site supervision can be crucial to the success of ecological mitigation measures and minimisation of ecological impact. Twig ecological consultants can supply on-site guidance to ensure full legal compliance for protected species and habitats, and to ensure compliance with all planning conditions. If required, a tool box induction talk and notes can be provided for sites and developments that do not require more extensive ecological supervision, but where there is still a need to highlight potential ecological issues.
Ecological best practice
Twig’s ecological supervision and species handling report will recommend the latest best practice techniques, while listening to the client and recommending common sense and practical solutions. We will endeavour to ensure that sensitive ecological issues on site are identified early and managed according to best practice guidelines, whilst recognising the need for progress with the development to required time-scales.
